Every four years the World Cup brings excitement to Football fans the world over. But the sheer happiness that pervades he championship’s winning nation stays with its fans for more than 24 years. To celebrate the 2006 Italian victory, Bimota has launched a limited edition DB6 Delirio: the Delirio Azzurro. Twenty-three bikes will be built, all dressed like a football team, in the Italian national colour Azzurro (that’s light blue).
The standard Delirio is already an exclusive model, with staggering attention to detail. Just look at those components beautifully machined from aluminium like the frame plates, the steering plates, the composite swing-arm: those are based on the DB5’s units but redesigned for a lighter, slimmer appearance. Among other parts, the footrests are machined to match the original Bimota style. But the special edition Delirio AZZURRO reaches a new heights in exclusivity. Its engine is surrounded by carbon fibre parts and fairing, and the aggressive design matches the strong personality of this bike. It’s like a wild cat born to prowl the mountain roads and the city streets. The green-white-red Italian flag, with the gold contour complements the light blue, and completes the ‘Italian’ paint scheme. The light aluminium wheels are painted in a sparkling gold. The components of this special edition Bimota are the same top-of-range units fitted to the standard DB6. So you’ll find the same high quality suspension made up of upside-down, fully adjustable 50mm forks, and a fully adjustable rear shock with hydraulic pre-load. Superb stopping power is provided by the same top quality Brembo brakes with their Braking Wave discs. |
