 Rossi leads Stoner and Pedrsoa Valentino Rossi rode his Yamaha M1 to a fighting second place in Catalunya today after an exhilarating battle with Casey Stoner, the Australian eventually taking the flag just 0.069 seconds ahead of the Fiat Yamaha rider after a nail-biting final few laps. Rossi 96th premier-class podium gives him yet another record as it takes him above Mick Doohan as the rider with the most podium finishes ever in the top class of Grand Prix racing. His team-mate Edwards suffered from grip issues throughout and was unable to stick with the leading pack from sixth on the grid, eventually finishing in tenth. |

Red Bull KTM 250 riders Mika Kallio and Hiroshi Aoyama both confirmed their upwards trend in Sunday's Catalunya Grand Prix with strong sixth and seventh places in the 250 cc class. Kallio of Finland held on to fourth place until lap five, taking advantage of his bike's perfect setup for the opening stages of the race with a full tank of fuel. He was engaged in a battle with Spanish hero Alvaro Bautista in the middle of the race but had to give way to the reigning 125 cc champion when his tyres started to go off on the last two laps of the race. |

Tomoyoshi Koyama and Randy Krummenacher gave the MotoGP 125 cc race a splash of orange on Saturday to spark a full scale celebration for the Red Bull KTM Racing team at the Grand Prix of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. The effusive young Japanese rider celebrated his first top podium with a near perfect tactical race, slipping into the lead in the closing stages of the 22-lap race to seal victory by just four hundredths of a second. Koyama, 24, with three years of Grand Prix experience pushed his way to the front of the pack with some truly heart-stopping braking maneuvers, first squeezing past his team-mate and finally masterfully defeating world championship leader Gabor Talmacsi, the eventual second placer. |

KTM Red Bull Racing Team's David Philippaerts performed well in MX1 at the Grand Prix of France on Sunday, registering a 2-5 result in the two heats for a confidence building overall third place for the Italian rider. The result also places Philippaerts in third place in the season's world championship standings, a significant improvement on earlier performances. Team-mate Jonathan Barragan, still nursing a shoulder injury from a crash in Japan came in at sixth place and is also sixth in the standings. |

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racer John Hopkins continued with his great run of form today as he stormed to a brilliant fourth place at the Catalan GP at Montmelo near Barcelona, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process. Hopkins was fifth on the grid and got of to a great start, as he and three other riders made a break away right from the beginning. Hopkins swapped places with Valentino Rossi in the early stages as the two riders went head-to-head for the second race in succession. Hopkins posted the fastest lap-time of the race on lap eight as he battled to stay with Rossi, championship leader Casey Stoner and local hero Dani Pedrosa. Try as he might the Anglo-American just couldn’t find his way past and brought his Rizla Suzuki home in a very creditable fourth, to consolidate his sixth place in the championship standings. |
